Vascular ultrasound Perth
Why we offer in-house vascular ultrasound
Having ultrasound available on-site means we can make more timely decisions about your care. You don’t have to wait days or weeks for imaging results; we can usually assess you during your consultation.

Expert scans by a dedicated Vascular Imaging Team
Accurate diagnosis is just as important as the treatment itself. That’s why we have teamed up with Perth Vascular Diagnostic Imaging and offer in-house vascular ultrasounds that allow us to assess, diagnose and monitor vascular conditions quickly and accurately in one place.
Vascular ultrasound and Doppler is a specialised imaging test that helps us evaluate how well blood is flowing through your arteries and veins. It’s completely non-invasive and works by using high-frequency sound waves to visualise the blood vessels in your body.
It plays an essential role in diagnosing and managing conditions such as:
- Chronic venous insufficiency
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Carotid artery disease
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
- Renal and mesenteric artery disease
- Aneurysms
- Pelvic congestion syndrome
- Dialysis access monitoring
Why vascular ultrasound expertise matters
Vascular ultrasound is a highly specialised area. General radiology clinics may offer vascular scans, but they often use a broad approach that may not be as detailed and often leave out important information needed for planning vascular treatment and ongoing decision-making.
At our practice, we only perform vascular scans and we do them every day. This level of focus means our imaging is more specialised, detailed, and the results are more clinically meaningful.
In many cases, the outcome of your treatment depends on the accuracy of your scan. That’s why we insist on doing it ourselves so we can trust every detail.

All vascular Uultrasounds and Dopplers Bulk-Billed with Medicare
All vascular ultrasound scans are bulk billed if you have a valid Medicare card and a referral from a GP or specialist. That means there are no out-of-pocket costs for the scans we provide.
What to expect during your vascular ultrasound
During a vascular ultrasound, a gel is applied to your skin, a transducer is moved over the area to be examined, and you may hear pulsing sounds of blood flow. You can expect minimal discomfort from light pressure.
The vast majority of these scans will take around 30 minutes to complete and you will be advised of any special preparation prior to the scan.
